ওয়াই ক্রোমোসোম ছাড়াই সম্ভব প্রজনন!

প্রজননের ক্ষেত্রে পৌরুষত্বের প্রতীক ‘ওয়াই ক্রমোসোম’ এর প্রয়োজনীয়তা তেমন বেশি নয়। এমনকি প্রজনন হওয়া সম্ভব এটি ছাড়াও। সাম্প্রতিক এক গবেষণায় বেরিয়ে এসেছে এ তথ্য। বিবিসি জানায়, ডিএনএ’তে পৌরুষত্ত্বের প্রতীক হিসেবে ‘ওয়াই ক্রোমোসোম’ এর গুরুত্ব অনেকখানি কমিয়ে এনেছেন বিজ্ঞানীরা। আর একারণে একে একেবারেই বাদ দিয়ে দেয়া সম্ভব বলে মানছেন তারা। শুধুমাত্র পুরুষের শরীরে থাকে এই ওয়াই ক্রমোসোম- লিঙ্গ নির্ধারণে যার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকার কথা সর্বজনবিদিত। কিন্তু এই ক্রমোসোম না...
